KXAN has launched a nightly sports show on one of its sister stations.

“KXAN Sports: More Than the Score” can be seen at 9:45 p.m. Monday through Friday on CW affiliate KNVA.

The show replaces “ATX Uncensored(ish)” in the time slot immediately following KNVA’s 9 p.m. newscast.

“KXAN Sports: More Than the Score” features KXAN’s sports reporters – Roger Wallace, Chris Tavarez and Andrew Schnitker – as well as CW Austin entertainment reporter Joe Barlow and guests from the Austin American-Statesman and radio station 104.9 The Horn.

The show promises in-depth coverage of college and high school sports.

“Avid sports fans always dish out their opinions and love to agree or disagree with what others think,” KXAN news director Chad Cross said. “Even better is hearing what the insiders have to say. This is the only TV show where you get a seat at the table with KXAN’s sports experts, the Statesman’s sports writers and The Horn’s radio personalities every night.”

Roger Wallace, sports director for sister station KXAN, will handle play-by-play duties.
